8 inch Bolt Down Bollard
Schedule 40/80 Steel Pipe with 5/8″ Steel Plate Bollard
Our 8 inch Steel Bolt Down Bollard is the biggest around! This heavy bollard is available in 2 wall thicknesses, 0.322″ (SCH40) and 0.5″ (SCH80). At 48″, these bollards weigh around 120 lbs (SCH40) and 180 lbs (SCH80). As far as bolt-down bollards go, these are about the BEEFIEST around. Use them to protect your most important equipment from forklifts. Use them outdoors in lieu of in-ground bollards where installation is impossible or problematic.
In-Ground vs Bolt-Down Considerations
- Bolt-down bollards should be anchored to concrete.
- In-ground bollards are superior to bolt-down in holding up to collisions, but when you can’t do in-ground bollards, these may be the way to go.
Maximizing Strength
- To maximize strength, use larger 7/8″ or 1″ concrete wedge anchors up to 12″ long. We can drill holes bigger to accept larger anchors.
- Also, for max strength, choose the Super Duty Base Plate: 12″ x 12″ x 1″
The BOSS says…
I don’t know what the heck you’re protecting but it must be important. These things are INDUSTRIAL. If your bollards need to go where you can’t install in-ground bollards, then you’re going to have a hard time finding anything better, bigger or stronger than this 8 inch Bolt-Down Bollard.

Bollard Cover or Welded Flat Cap
Welded Flat Cap: Instead of using a bollard cover, you can have a Flat Cap welded to the top. (the steel dome cap is not available for 8″) Note that this is better suited for indoor applications. Outdoors, we suggest using a cover, so the welded dome cap would be hidden and redundant.
Bollard Cover: Unless specified, we bundle bollard covers with the base plate bollards.
